Seniors Supporting Students (S3)

The PRIME Center is seeking volunteers for its Seniors Supporting Students (S3) math mentor program.

What is Seniors Supporting Students (S3)? Seniors Supporting Students is a math mentoring program that matches senior volunteers and students who need extra help with basic math skills in grades K-4 at local elementary schools.

Do I need to have a background in mathematics to volunteer for the program? You don't have to be a math whiz. All volunteers complete a comprehensive six-week, 18-hour training course to learn the teaching tips and strategies necessary for helping individual students or small groups of students in the classroom.

What is the time commitment? Volunteers can help out as much or as little as they would like. After the initial training course, volunteer hours can be arranged to fit your schedule.

How do I sign up? If you want to make a difference in the lives of young students by becoming a math mentor, please contact: Mary Cavanagh, Executive Director at 480-727-0907 or at mcavangh@asu.edu.
